About the app

Learn French: Phrases & Words is an offline French vocabulary app. You can study words, phrases, and the alphabet, hear bundled French pronunciation, mark favorites, take quizzes, and optionally send a learning plan to a paired Apple Watch. No account is required.

Troubleshooting

Progress disappeared. Learning progress, favorites, and settings are stored only on this iPhone. Deleting the app, or restoring a device without a backup of that data, removes them. There is no cloud account to restore from.
Pronunciation is silent. Spoken audio uses bundled French recordings when present, otherwise Apple’s on-device French text-to-speech. Check that your device is not muted, that volume is up, and that a French voice is installed in iOS Settings if the system voice is missing.
Sound effects are off. Turn on Sound effects in the in-app Settings. Pronunciation is separate from that switch.
Apple Watch is empty. Pair the Watch with the same iPhone, install the Learn French Watch app, then send a learning plan from the iPhone Watch screen. The transfer uses Apple Watch Connectivity between your paired devices.
Watch reminders do not appear. Reminders are scheduled locally on the Watch after you send a plan with reminders enabled. Allow notifications for the Watch app if iOS or watchOS asks.
Translation language looks wrong. A fresh install defaults to English. Change Translation language in Settings. That choice stays on the device and updates learner meanings in the app.
