Privacy Policy for Learn Spanish | Vocabulary

This policy describes how Learn Spanish | Vocabulary handles information. It reflects only what this app actually does.

Effective date: September 19, 2026

App: Learn Spanish | Vocabulary (iPhone and Apple Watch companion)

On-device name: Learn Spanish

Developer: the developer listed on the App Store listing for Learn Spanish | Vocabulary

1. Summary

Learn Spanish | Vocabulary is an offline language-learning app. It does not require an account. It does not include advertising, analytics, crash reporting, or social login. It does not send your learning data to our servers. We do not operate a backend for this app.

2. Information stored on your device

The app stores the following only on your iPhone, using on-device storage (Apple UserDefaults via the Flutter shared_preferences plugin):

This information is used only to run the app on your device. It is not transmitted to us.

If no translation language has been chosen yet, the app defaults to English on the device. That default stays on the device.

3. Learning content

Words, phrases, alphabet, images, translations, sound-effect files, and bundled Spanish pronunciation files are packaged in the app. Core learning does not require a network connection.

4. Pronunciation and audio

Pronunciation uses Apple’s on-device text-to-speech (AVSpeechSynthesizer through the flutter_tts plugin) when a bundled recording is not available. The app does not record your voice, does not use the microphone, and does not use speech recognition.

If a bundled pronunciation file exists, it is played locally with the audioplayers plugin. The app does not stream audio from the internet and does not call a cloud text-to-speech service.

5. Apple Watch

If you use the Learn Spanish Watch app, the iPhone sends a learning plan to your paired Apple Watch with Apple Watch Connectivity. That plan can include Spanish text, your chosen translation, and reminder schedule settings. The transfer stays between your iPhone and your Watch.

The iPhone may keep a pending copy of that plan in on-device storage so it can be delivered when the Watch becomes reachable.

Watch reminders are local notifications on the Watch. They do not use Apple Push Notification service and do not go through our servers.

The Watch may store the latest plan in on-device files and UserDefaults so items remain available when the iPhone is not reachable.

6. Data we do not collect

We do not collect name, email, phone number, address, payment information, precise or coarse location, contacts, photos, camera, microphone recordings, browsing history, search history sent to us, advertising identifiers (IDFA), cookies, device identifiers for tracking, crash logs, or analytics events.

We do not use Google AdMob, Google Mobile Ads, Firebase, Google Analytics, Crashlytics, Supabase, or similar third-party analytics/advertising/backend services.

7. Tracking

This app does not track you. It does not link data with third-party data for advertising. It does not use App Tracking Transparency because it does not track.

8. Third-party software in the app

The iPhone app is built with Flutter and includes these plugins, used only on the device:

These components are not used to send your information to their publishers. Apple provides iOS, watchOS, Watch Connectivity, UserNotifications, and speech synthesis as operating-system features.

9. Children

The app does not collect personal information from anyone, including children. A parent or guardian may use the app without creating an account.

10. Data retention and deletion

Because we do not receive your learning data, we do not retain it on our systems. You can remove on-device data by deleting the app (and the Watch app, if installed), subject to normal Apple platform behavior.

11. Changes

If the app’s behavior changes (for example, if a future version adds accounts, ads, or analytics), this policy will be updated and App Store privacy disclosures will be updated before that version ships.

12. Contact

For privacy questions, contact the developer through the App Store listing for Learn Spanish | Vocabulary (the support or developer contact shown there).

No public support email address is published in the app source or this site.
